Rosie Nix April 2021

Rosie was rescued from a bad situation when she was not quite a year old. We named her Rosie because of her ‘rosy’ outlook on life. She is a German Shepard mix with the deeply resonating voice to prove it.

During Rosie’s long life (she will turn 18 this year!) she has hiked the southern portion of the Appalachian Trail, swam, boated, and kayaked on lake Harwell; strolled the beaches of Tybee and Jekyll Island. She is particularly proud of having climbed the 600 metal stairs to reach the top of Amicalola Falls. (Her human mom was so scared she would slip between them and plunge to the bottom) Yikes!

She has just recently retired from rounding up the cattle on her weekend visits to her family’s farm in North Georgia, but still stays in shape by keeping the yard squirrels at bay.

Even though Rosie is slowing down, she still is an integral part of her family, who love her dearly. She is very healthy for her age and we so proud of her.
