Hello! My name is Mia. I came to live with my dad four years ago after being returned to the shelter by other families twice. I was so happy when he came to meet me that I ran up to him and sat in his lap even though I was nervous about nearly everything else around me. I have adjusted well to my new life and love playing with my housemates (a dog named Murphy and a cat named Watson). I also live with a woman who says she is my mom, but I know that she is really just my personal assistant.
I enjoy the finer things in life – snuggling up under the blankets, eating trash, and chasing my ball. I love that ball. I also love to go on walks because I may find some trash that needs eating on the way. Sometimes I get lucky and find an abandoned ball!
My favorite part of the day is when my family comes home. I am so good at welcoming them in with my happy tail and my dad says that I always cheer him up! Because I love my family, I am an excellent guard dog. My loud barks have saved us from a FedEx delivery, a pizza delivery, and I have scared away thousands of leaves that have dared come upon my doorstep.I may have had a rough start in life, but with a little bit of training, I have finally found my forever home. Remember my story the next time you are looking for a new pet and consider checking your local shelters first!
Disclaimer: Mia’s “personal assistant,” Dr. Miller, does not condone trash eating or any eating of foreign objects.
