Chance and Jasmine are so honored to be pets of the month for July 2021
Chance is an eight-year-old mixed breed dog that who is very special to us. We adopted him during a really hard time in our lives. My husband was injured while deployed and was hospitalized for months. We were stationed away from home for outpatient rehabilitation. I thought a puppy would be an excellent way for my husband to relearn responsibilities and be a good companion. Little did I know how much I would rely on this sweet pup. We didn’t know anyone in the area, so Chance became my best friend. I swear he understands everything I say to him. We could not ask for a more loyal dog. He has started to slow down since having knee surgeries, but he still loves tennis balls, playing in water, car rides with his head out the window and playing with his sister Jasmine. She helps him to keep him moving. Jasmine is a four-year-old boxer/pit mix. She is our crazy girl. She wants all your attention, all the time and thoroughly enjoys snuggles. She has tons of energy and loves playing fetch with a Frisbee, running through our creek, and going for walks. She makes friends wherever she goes. We adopted her from the animal shelter here in Monroe when she was eight weeks old. We saw her picture online and could not resist. Chance instantly took to her and taught her about being a good dog. She fits into our family perfectly. We love them both to pieces and could not ask for two better dogs.
