Our sweet Hillary "strayed" into our lives during the summer of 2016. She was young and sick and scared at first, but eventually warmed up to us and allowed us to take her to Monroe Vet clinic for treatment/surgery and ongoing care. She is now happy and healthy and has become queen of the entire yard! She lives on the back deck in an old dog house and has the best of both worlds: food/protection/frequent snuggles but also enjoys climbing trees/exploring/drinking water out of the bird bath! We were not "cat people" before Hillary and just didn't know much about them. She has shown us how bright and curious and playful cats can be! One of her favorite games is sitting on the deck railing and "chasing" her tail as it dangles! The most surprising behavior is that she will not touch her food until she has "visited" with us and been stroked--we think it's her way of saying thanks! Of course, WE are thankful that she wandered into our yard 2 years ago, and we are grateful for her friends at Monroe Vet clinic who give her such good care!
